It’s elegant cylindrical glass case mirrors the shape of its internal Soviet IN-14 Nixie display tubes, while downplaying the presence of the modern circuit boards which make them work, and ironically boast more computing power than the cold war computers these Nixie tubes were originally designed for. Those brains enable the clock’s ambient light sensor to adjust the intensity of the tube display based on the brightness of the room for easier. Users can also opt to have the clock’s digits crossfade, or turn off at a set time interval to save power. In sum, it’s the best kremlin product housed in a glass since Vodka.

Wakemate is a wristband that monitors your movements throughout the night and, when you get close to your pre-set optimum waking time, it waits for the shallowest part of your sleep cycle before sounding the alarm. The Wakemate pairs with your Android or iOS device via Bluetooth, and uses this to track your sleep and wake you with your favorite music.

Our sleep runs in 90-minute cycles, and ideally we should wake at the part of shallowest sleep. If you feel like your regular alarm clock sometimes drags you from the very depths of sleep, that’s because it is — it’s waking you from deep sleep.

T-Mobile’s ‘myTouch 4G Slide’ Packs 8 Megapixels | Gadget Lab

The HTC myTouch 4G Slide’s main claim to fame is its camera, an 8-megapixel beast with dual LED flash and “zero shutter lag.”

A backside illuminated sensor and f/2 aperture lens are included to improve low-light performance. Other camera-centric features include a panoramic photo tool, HDR, and something called BurstShot, which takes multiple photos in quick succession so you can capture just the right moment.

The myTouch 4G runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is skinned with HTC Sense 3.0. As a T-Mobile phone, it’s also got the company’s Qik video chat and Group Text services baked in. A hands-free mode lets users control the smartphone with voice commands when they’re driving or otherwise occupied.

Rounding out the specs are a 3.7-inch WVGA super LCD touchscreen and a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor.

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide will be available in July for $200 with a two-year service agreement

Benrus was the official watch of the U.S. mail-carrying pilots of several cargo airlines. You can still find some of the authentic Sky Chiefs, and by forking out $2,400 or so, you may even be able to own one.

We’re huge fans of classically inspired watches, but we enjoy a decent amount of heft in modern timepieces, as well. Aside from beefy Panerais, we can grow weary of the manhole-sized watches that seem to pervade ignorant male youth today. But it is hard to survive out there with a thin dress watch, alone. The Marvin M120 ($1,260) meets dress and casual requirements perfectly, taking cues from the 1950s and stepping up the style quotient with a tastefully thick high-relief case that is like nothing you’ve seen at this price point. Based on experience, we expected to be underwhelmed. Happily, however, we weren't.

7.1 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide, and 5.2 inches deep--as a Bose SoundDock iPod/iPhone speaker but a little deeper. Weighing in at 4.2 pounds, it's got some decent heft but is light enough to be easily moved around the house. (Note that it runs on an AC adapter, not batteries, so it can't be considered a truly portable unit).
