Inside the Pontos S is a Maurice Lacroix modified Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. They call it the ML112, but are at least very forthright about the fact that it is a base 7750. The Pontos S is a strong mainstream sport watch that is versatile and attractive. It isn't the last watch you'll ever want to own by makes for a really nice daily wear and out to do well for the brand in 2012. Look for it soon. Priced from $2,950 - $3,280.

Portage seems to be Toshiba’s specialty, and even as such a thin slate, the Excite 10 still makes room for the necessary connectivity. MicroUSB, HDMI, and microSD slots are all included, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. On the back you’ll find a 5-megapixel camera capable of video capture in 1080p, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat.

The Excite 10 LE comes in both 16- and 32GB flavors for $529 and $599 respectively.

The Marmot Turret 3P is everything you’d want in a three-man tent. It’s lightweight, compact, and wind resistant. It keeps you dry even in the whipping rain, and it’s remarkably easy to set up. However, with a price tag of $430, you’d half expect the tent to come with maid service. Do not bring this tent to the local Occupy encampment. You’ll likely be chased out, or become the target of a new Occupy movement.

Sure, there are plenty of luxe, lightweight, three-man tents made for backpacking that cost more than $400. But with packed dimensions of 8.5 x 28 inches, the Marmot Turret 3P isn’t ideal for stashing in a pack. It’s better suited for car camping, and if that’s your speed, you could spend half as much money for something agreeable. But with the Marmot, you certainly do get a lot for your money

A-Solar has managed to keep their new Power Dock remarkably small and travel-friendly, while still incorporating a solar panel.

With a 6,000 mAh rechargeable battery it packs enough power to completely charge a couple of mobile devices. But it also provides enough juice to even charge the iPad, though, only to about 60% of its full capacity.

A USB port on the back lets you charge its built-in battery from an outlet, when available, or connect it to a computer allowing you to sync your docked device to iTunes. And, even though it has a small footprint, it can also dock and support the larger iPad without toppling over.

For those times when you're away from a power source, just flip over the $106 travel dock to reveal a compact solar panel that's promised to harness the sun's rays even on a cloudy day.
