The Fairlady Z (perhaps better know in America as the Datsun 240Z) formed the basis for the legendary Nissan Safari Rally Z. This fastback coupe sported a 215 horsepower inline-six engine that helped it win two East African Rally championships in the early 1970s. Now it's undergoing a complete overhaul, thanks to Nissan's Restoration Club — a group known for bringing historically-significant Nissans like the 1964 Skyline back to life. Expect to see this Z car restored to its former glory by December of this year.

Audi's classic rally car celebrates its 30th birthday at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show with the debut of the Sport quattro concept. An evolution of the quattro concept that was shown three years ago, the Sport quattro is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor that pushes out 700 hp, a 0-62 time of 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 189 mph. And don't let the supercar-level numbers fool you, the car is nothing but efficient, the car has a range of 31 miles on electric power alone and has an impressive fuel rating of 94 miles per gallon.

2014 BMW 4-Series Coupe with M Performance Parts

BMW provided a preview of its upcoming M4 – by outfitting the 4-Series Coupe with the M4′s M Performance parts. The result: an automobile significantly more aggressive and powerful than the original 4-Series Concept. A new body kit provides a modified front bumper with a carbon fiber splitter and enlarged air ducts, a new rear bumper with both air extraction ducts and an included diffuser, new side sills, carbon fiber mirror housing, xenon LED headlamps, 20″ alloy wheels, and blackened chrome trim throughout the exterior. Underneath the hood, the M Performance package boosts engine performance for each type of available setup: the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel 420d engine is capable of 195 bhp and 309 lb-ft of torque; the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine of the 428i is capable of 269 bhp and 287 lb-ft of torque; and the 435i’s 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine boasts 336 bhp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Final details include an updated exhaust, tweaked software, and an optional limited-slip differential. Stay tuned for a look at the BMW M4 itself, which is expected to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show come January 2014.

Aimed at tackling all landscapes with confidence and style, the Parcour pulls together aesthetics from SUVs, crossovers and sports cars into one coveted package. The unique two-seater borrows the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2′s 543 horsepower engine, ensuring that the concept has the guts to match its brawny exterior. Italdesign Giugiaro claim a 0-62 mph time of just 3.3 seconds and a top of 199 mph. The concept also boasts a unique “Pushrod 2.0″ suspension which can lower and raise the vehicle according to the road conditions. Rounded off with an all-round minimalist design, the low-sung, high-riding vehicle is another innovative hallmark from the Italian design house.
