Agnes Martin Monograph

Agnes Martin seems to be having a well-deserved moment in the sun with a retrospective at the Tate Modern, which runs until October 11th before heading to Dusseldorf, Los Angeles and New York. To coincide with the exhibition, the renowned London-based art museum has released a definitive monograph, featuring early works, Martin's striped and gridded paintings, and a series of her final pieces. The publication also includes a selection of drawings, watercolours and critical essays, creating a wonderful overview of one of 20th century art’s most enduring icons, as well as a testament to a strong female figure who made a name for herself in the veritable boy’s club of minimalism. Field Notes “Two Rivers” Edition

This season's Field Notes release is quite a special one, especially if you're into design. The company teamed up with the Hamilton Manufacturing Company in Two Rivers, Wisconsin who created wood type that was widely used to print American headlines and broadsides from the late 1800s to the mid-20th century and created the Two Rivers Edition.

For this COLORS limited edition, Field Notes hand set a number of designs using original Hamilton vintage type and ornaments. Hamilton then printed the designs using two random colors on a '61 Heidelberg GT 13″×18″ windmill press. Two dollars from each sale of the pack will go to Hamilton, who has kept the company's spirit alive with a museum that hosts conferences, workshops, and residencies.

Other Nature by Ron Jude

"In his previous book, Alpine Star, photographer and publisher Ron Jude appropriated and recast a collection of his hometown newspaper photographs as a cryptically humorous meditation on the grey area between personal history and collective memory.
