Amazon has officially unveiled its first entry into the smartphone market and if everything works as marketed it might be the phone to beat.
Lets get to the specs first, the Firephone will be powered by a hyperfast Qualcomm 2.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 processor and will have 32GBs of storage, a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Surround, and a 4.7" HD screen. Now what differentiates the FirePhone from the rest is two major features: Firefly and Dynamic Perspective. Firefly is a technology that can identify email addresses, websites, and QR codes. Most impressive is that it can ID over 100 million songs, products, and movies, it's essentialy the ultimate Shazam we've always wanted.
The other big feature is Dynamic Perspective, a sensor-based system that uses eye-tracking tech that lets you scroll through pages with a simple tilt of the phone or pan around a map to look behind a building to view the street behind it. It accompishes this with four cameras to watch your head movement and track your eyes.
