Nike Aerogami Keeps Runners Cool — NIKE

Aerogami is a venting system that autonomously adapts to your needs, creating more-breathable performance gear with on-demand ventilation. It’s designed to create product that interacts with your body in real time as you warm up, sweat and cool down.

How Aerogami works: Tiny winged vents open as sweat builds against the skin, allowing better airflow and for sweat to escape. When the body cools down and sweat dries, the vents close back up. This capability comes from a moisture-reactive film applied to the vents that autonomously contracts and expands upon sensing sweat against the body.

The new Nike Run Division Aerogami Jacket features the venting system across the chest and back of the garment — two of the areas where runners heat up and sweat most — allowing airflow to travel through the jacket as runners move.

Inspired by Tokyo-based run crew Gyakusou International Running Association (GIRA), Undercover’s Jun Takahashi returns with an engineered performance collection for men and women.

Once again Nike team with the founder of Undercover, Jun Takahashi, to create the Holiday 2015 edition of the NikeLab x Undercover Gyakusou running collection. Takahashi’s unique take on running apparel artfully blends leading Nike technical innovation with the unique identity that the Undercover label has become renowned for.

For the footwear portion of the collaboration, Takahashi offers the Gyakusou Free Flyknit 3.0. Featuring a Flyknit upper and Nike's Free 3.0 out sole unit, the model is finished with contrasting laces and swoosh branding to the side.

On Cushioned Running Shoe: On Cloud

Last year, Swiss-based On unveiled the world’s lightest fully cushioned running shoe known as the On Cloud. The 7 oz. (less than 200 grams) runner also unveiled a special edition inspired by zero gravity and the universe. Two contrasting colors ultimately meant for either men or women have been conceived. For males, they are offered in a ‘deep space’ black colorway, while the female version is found in starry white. NikeLab ACG

Nike's relaunch of the ACG collection has been much anticipated, but I was a little skeptical when I first heard the news. It would have been easy to simply reproduce old styles and colourways in updated fabrics. However, by enlisting Errolson Hugh they've been able to push the collection forwards. The latest rendition of ACG appears to be an exciting step in the right direction, finding a balance between style and functionality which was always at the brand's core. The footwear is well done, but it's the outerwear and tops that are the most enticing.
