Having previously collaborated on a limited edition capsule of furniture, Danish menswear label Han Kjøbenhavn have teamed up with furniture manufacturers Fritz Hansen to create a special collection of wooden sunglasses. The frames have been crafted from the frame of the original Grand Prix chair, the award-winning stackable plywood chair presented by Danish designer Arne Jacobsen in 1957, while the lenses have been supplied by high-end optical brand Carl Zeiss. Neighborhood’s Tommy O’Gara and Shinsuke Takizawa created a pair of optical glasses with sunglasses clip that gained iconic status through the test of time and sparked the launch of the ‘Four’ in 2012. Beck and Warby Parker are back at it and since the original release proved to be a success the two have joined up once again to not only bring back the "Carmichael" frame ($95) in a new color, but also release an incredible new version of his album, Song Reader.
Beck and producer Randall Poster selected a special group of artists who have created exclusive versions just for this release. The 20-track collection will feature recordings by Jack White, Juanes, Norah Jones, Lord Huron, Jeff Tweedy, Jarvis Cocker, and of course, Beck himself. The album will be available at select dealers such as Need Supply in Virginia, Alchemy Works in LA, Warby Parker's retail stores, and iTunes.
